The following industry professionals will be presenting at Industry Workshops 17-19th August 2018 in London.
Note: As speakers are confirmed they will be added to this page.
VFX guru and 3D juggernaut Gerard Dunleavy (Marvel, MPC, Ubisoft, Legendary, Double Negative, The Mill) is making a triumphant return to IW for 2018 to demo on our Live Screens. Gerard is a favourite face for us at the event with his fresh workflows from VR to realtime rendering, matte painting and concept design and he always delivers.
The quality of Steven Cormann’s (ILM, Axis Animation, Sehsucht, Paramount) work is both highly evocative and detailed at the same time, using a refined 3D to 2D workflow (and now increasingly 4D) learnt during many years as a pro matte painter, 3D generalist and illustrator. Architecture to vehicles, Lebbeus Woods to classic sci-fi Steven kills it every time and he's Demo-ing for all of you at IW!..Peep those environments!!
Her eye for light, composition and capturing genuine moments have served her well in her career. Over the years she has applied that keen eye to her role in the entertainment industry as an illustrator and concept artist on a variety of projects, including Magic: The Gathering, Battletech and Xbox Mixed Reality.
Simon returns for his 4th year at IW and we couldn't be happier - his work spans many genres, and whether you're an illustrator or a motion graphics master all attendees end up gaining something from his passion, depth of knowledge and precision.
Maxx Burman is an art director and matte painter who's spent the last 10 years designing compelling worlds for blockbuster films and video games.
His work can be seen in films such as Iron Man, Godzilla, Her, shows like Game of Thrones, Westworld and Walking Dead, and game franchises like League of Legends, Destiny, Far Cry and Titanfall.
Silverwing's Raphael Rau is one of the top 3D artists working in the field today. His passion for modelling and photo-real techniques has led him to become something of a beacon for many - on forums, social media and in the flesh - who wish to push themselves in advanced graphics techniques.
We have a few traditions at IW. Beer, coffee, food, and a big ol RANT by resident angry man Mike Hill. These are always a highlight of the event and highly amusing. Watch a fairly relaxed Mike get more and more wound up about something as simple as a chair and have you leave the event feeling smarter for it.
Iris Muddy is a visual development and concept artist working in games and animation. Her immense enthusiasm for storytelling and adventure emanates from her work; a world in which mysterious mermaids, feisty mushroom sprites, and seafaring elephants dance across the canvas in colourful splendour.
