Nicola Russi was supposed to be a pizza baker. His destiny was written, but the animation god Walt Bluthazaki had other plans for him. He injected the helpless pizzaboy with all the animation principles and the necessary talents to forge him into a real professional animator.
Six years are gone now, and since then Nico has animated angry raccoons, flying super heroes, wild animals, rusty robots and other unmentionable goodies,
with his usual push to extend the boundries of his knowledge and to spread the good tidings of the holy animation realm.
Nevertheless, he still prefers pizza.

His passion for modelling and photo-real techniques has led him to become something of a beacon for many - on forums, social media and in the flesh - who wish to push themselves in advanced graphics techniques. If you're a concept artist, animator or modeller this is a must see.

Every one of us carries with them their own unique tastes, experiences, and ideas they have gathered over time. Being aware of the potential of our individual traits as artistic tools, and applying them to our work mindfully, enables us to strike the metaphorical match and enkindle the emotions of our viewers.

We have a few traditions at IW. Beer, coffee, food, and a big ol RANT by resident angry man Mike Hill. These are always a highlight of the event and highly amusing. Watch a fairly relaxed Mike get more and more wound up about something as simple as a chair and have you leave the event feeling smarter for it.
Iris Muddy is a visual development and concept artist working in games and animation. Her immense enthusiasm for storytelling and adventure emanates from her work; a world in which mysterious mermaids, feisty mushroom sprites, and seafaring elephants dance across the canvas in colourful splendour.
